KEEP CALM.......

Today is Late Night in the Phog and the official start to the 2011/12 season.  Late Night always brings mixed emotions....mainly excitement and dread. HA! But, like always, I have faith....And if all else fails, I just have to remember....

AND SO IT BEGINS.........

Sorry I have been so M.I.A. lately. The season "officially" starts in T-4 days...but it has pretty much already started, ya dig??? Yesterday was KU Media Day and all the girls (including the big girl, Bonnie) did fab. They put a really cute pic in the paper this morning with a really positive article so that is exciting. Late Night in the Phog is Friday night and the anxiety is thick around here. But we are prepared. The coaches have their skits down, the girls have their dances memorized, and Brooke and I have our flasks filled. HA! Just kidding.....but not really. It is a HUGE recruiting weekend so I am ready to smile, smile, smile the whole time. Good thing I invested in those Crest Whitening Strips. HA!.  Long story short...I would like to fast forward to Sunday:)

I don't really have that much more to report. My little blog will probably be dominated with basketball talk from here on out but if you bare with me, there will probably be some pretty entertaining stories. And I apologize in advance if I go M.I.A. again. But ya'll will have to give me the benefit of the doubt. This is what I'm dealing with here.........

Peace, Love, and JAYHAWKS!

SHOW US YOUR LIFE- SHOW US YOUR PET

I decided to link up with Kelly's Korner for her Show Us Your Life- Show Us Your Pets.  I don't normally do these linky things but I thought this one would be fun. I mean, Lulu is totes worth showing off! HA! For those of you who read my blog everyday, y'all know how I feel about this dog. She is more to me than just a pet. She is my baby. My comfort. My responsibility.  I love her with all my heart. So, without further adoo:

Here is Lulu "The Diva Dog" Leland:

The day I got her. Look how scared she looked! HA!

Glamour Shot (Please ignore the bandana. The groomer put it on her. YUCK.)
Snuggling on "her spot."

Diva Dog.

Trying to cheer me up the night before the big 3-0!

I got Lulu from a rescue farm in Missouri.  I know it sounds cliche but I took one look at her and knew we would be soul mates.  I "saved" her that day and she has since saved me right back!

I love you Lulu! Best. Dog. Ever.

Now please stop eating Momma's jewelry!

PONYTAIL DAY AND PINTEREST

T.G.I.FRIDAY peoples!!!! I can say this with all honesty....this week seemed like it went on 4-EVA!  I got up and worked out this morning and decided not to wash my hair for work today. THAT is how over this week I am! It's a ponytail day. HA! I'm going to to to the LHS game tonight (Go Lions) so I will wash my hair for that. Priorities.  Hudy is leaving on a jet plane today so I have all three dogs alone for the weekend. OH LAWD, that is always an adventure.  Lulu and her buddies run the house when they get together and I am completely outnumbered! HA!

One quick thing...Have any of you guys heard about Pinterest?!?! A co-worker introduced me to it yesterday and I have been on that dang website non-stop since last night. LOVE!  For all my friends who like to entertain and decorate, THIS is the website for you. WARNING: If you are a busy gal DO NOT sign up! You won't be able to stop. And then your dog won't get to go for her night time walk....hypothetically speaking.  Ok, shame on me.

Will you please put down the iPad so we can go for a walk?!? PLEASE!!!!

Anyhoo, that is all I have for today.  Weekend recap on Monday. I will try and take as many blurry pics as my camera will let me. HA!

MARLEY LILLY LOVE

Nothing much new to report on the home front. Last night I stayed in and washed my sheets and vacumed my bedrooms. I know, thrilling. I did get something fun in the mail though that I wanted to share.  I got the idea from a darling blog I follow,  Pink Lou Lou.  This girlie is just adorbs and I get several new ideas from her every week. She was the one who turned me on to my new blush routine that I have gotten several compliments on. Anyhoo, I'd like to introduce you to my new favorite winter accessory........................

TA DAAAAAAA!!!!! The website is Marley Lilly and I am obsessed with EVERYTHING they sell. The picture doesn't really do it justice but I am in love. It is a "fake cashmere" material and soooo soft.  And for only $27.95 it is so afordable. They have super fast customer service too. I ordered it on Friday and received it on MONDAY. With the monogram!!!!  They have about a million color combos and about 15 different fonts you can chose from.  It was kind of overwhelming making a decision so I panicked and decided on KU colors.....DUH! I am dying for a pink one with black or white stitching. I wanted to get my Momma a Pacific Tigers one but I was worried it would look a little too Halloween-ish.  And they are a clever little company  because they included a stack of these business cards in my envelope :

Their system works. I gave two cards out yesterday to peeps who wanted to check out the website.

Leave it to Pink Lou Lou to have the most perfect accessory at the most perfect price! I don't even know her personally, but I know we could be fast friends. I'm even willing to overlook her Kentucky allegience:)

CHIEFS WIN, BABY!!!!!

Yesterday we went to the KC Chiefs game and it was so.much.fun! Ok, let me back up a sec....so this summer I decided to become a Chiefs fan. Why? I'm so glad you asked....Because I live a lifestyle where my work and personal life hangs on every bounce of a ball, I thought it would be healthy for me to get invested in a team that reaaaally didn't have that much impact on my life.  I am so jealous of the normal fan who gets to go games and cheer their hardest but, if their team comes up short in the end, it's not the end of the world. So I chose the Chiefs and decided to go all out....OBVI.  I bought a Chiefs t-shirt and sweatshirt, printed off the schedule, and mastered the "tomahawk chop." Every week I would ask the bestie, "Can we go to the Chiefs game this weekend?" and every week the answer has been no. Either somebody has practice, somebody is traveling, or somebody just wants to be lazy and do nothing. So you can imagine my suprise when I asked the same question this week and the response was actually yes.  After I got over my intial shock, I went straight to work on snagging some tix. I knew exactly who to go to and got hooked up big time.  We actually ended up with tickets in the head coach's suite. Sitting right next to his wife.   Let me tell you, that was an experience. I was raised by a crazy athletics director's wife and was surrounded by crazy coach's wifes my whole childhood so I was prepared for pretty much anything. But this lady took it to the next level.  Screaming at the officials, banging her hands on the plexi-glass and cursing up a storm...all while staying totally glam and fabulous the whole time. I LOVED IT....and I  totally understood. Her team hadn't won a game all season and "people" were calling for her husband's job.  So she had no reason to apologize. I totally felt for her, HER life was hanging on every pass.   It all turned out great in the end because the Chiefs pulled of the W and everybody could breathe a sigh of relief. Mrs. Haley even cried. I did have to laugh to myself on the way home because I don't know how I went from going to a game as a normal fan and not really caring about the outcome...to sitting with the head coach's wife and feeling the pressure....again. Typical.

This was the only pic I got from the whole game. Stupid camera.

So Sunday was a total success. I think I may have even made a new friend in the process. Mrs. Haley, or Chrissy as she told me to call her, invited us back to any game we wanted. Probably because I found her center stone that fell out of her ring during one of her plexi-glass banging rants.  Hudy put it perfectly, "If it's a diamond, Amanda will find it."

One other thing. On Friday night we went and watched Trent's (Erica's hubby) volleyball team play in KC. It was great fun. Especially 'cause I got to hang out with this kid.................

My boy, Kingston, had me crackin' up the whole time. What a happy little kid! Smooches, Kingston!!!! Aunt Amanda loves you!

That is all for the weekend. My KUFB boys had another tough day on Saturday. Hopefully things will turn around for them soon.  Next weekend we play the #6 team in the country. Fingers crossed. I BELIEVE!

ROCK CHALK and GO CHIEFS!
